Our Summit County Visioning | Shaping the Future of Summit County, Utah

WELCOME TO OUR SUMMIT: A COMMUNITY VISIONING PROJECT

In July of 2021, the County Council expressed the need for a community visioning initiative to better understand the community’s desires for the future of Summit County. In late 2022, County staff vetted consultant applications to a public Request for Proposals (RFP), interviewed finalists, and ultimately selected a consultant to lead our community visioning effort.

Since January of 2023, community members across the county had opportunities to learn about the visioning process and provide vital input both in-person and online through one-on-one interviews, open houses, learning events, community gatherings, social media posts, email updates, and a mailed questionnaire. Four phases of community engagement were completed, community demographics, needs, and desires were analyzed, best practices were researched, and future projections were reviewed.

The visioning process resulted in a Vision and Strategic Plan that includes data and impressions from approximately eleven months of comprehensive community engagement and information gathering, and encompasses how the Summit County community as a whole wants to move forward.
