On December 11, 2024, the Summit County Council adopted Resolution 2024-30, a Resolution Declaring the Need for and Creating a Housing Authority pursuant to Utah Code §35A-8-401 et. seq.
Since the creation of the Housing Authority, the Summit County Council has been working to define the organizational bylaws for the newly created authority. In support of that effort, a five (5) person Board of Commissioners is to be created. This Board will consist of the following composition:
•Three (3) members from the elected Summit County Council.
•Two (2) members shall be members at large (Volunteer Opportunity).
The board is authorized to establish the purpose of effecting the planning, financing, acquisition, construction, reconstruction or repair, maintenance, management, and operation of housing projects or programs to provide dwelling accommodations at rental prices or purchase prices within the means of families of moderate and attainable incomes. The Board of Commissioners shall also be tasked with implementing the County’s Housing Strategic Plan and Moderate-Income Housing Plan.
Special consideration may be given to applicants who have experience in real estate, banking, finance, construction, engineering and those working with underserved populations.
